Thai yoga bodywork, which is also referred to as Thai massage, is a 2,500-year-old Ayurvedic-based body science developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha. As a trained Thai Yoga bodyworker, I will stretch the receiver within a series of specific movements following different energy lines within the body that are pressed while stretching the client. This may include pulling gently on the limbs, the fingers, toes, and ears, cracking knuckles, walking on the back and/or feet and moving the body into several different positions.
If you have back pain, difficulty laying in one position for an extended period of time, or are uncomfortable with not having on clothes, this technique is a great alternative to traditional massage. It is also a great opportunity to open energy lines within your body and realign mentally and physically.

I had never had the opportunity to have Thai bodywork before but had always to try it. I’m so glad I found Kathy Pabst!! Our session was a wonderful combination to me of massage & restorative yoga. You are completely relaxed & stretched. You come out at the end feeling rejuvenated, energized & yet relaxed all at the same time. It was an amazing experience! I highly recommend it! - Nancy J.

"As a student of Kathy's yoga classes, and a recipient of her new Thai Yoga practice, I can say that this modality is the PERFECT compliment to her already expansive knowledge and understanding of the body's and spirit's need for self care and attention. Her intuitive touch and healing intention makes for an ideal Thai massage experience." - Meredith B.

"I had the pleasure of experiencing my first Thai massage.  I have had traditional massages for many years and was very surprised to find that a Thai massage is a combination of stretching and relaxing my muscles, in a way impossible for me to do myself.  I found the experience extremely relaxing and it truly opened up my body in such a way that I felt a release of a huge amount of stress.  Kathy Pabst was the perfect combination of knowledgeable, patient, and therapeutic.  She was able to adjust my session to suit my personal needs and I was very impressed with her extensive knowledge of the human body.  I am thrilled to have discovered this new therapeutic style of massage and look forward to my next session." - Christine S.

Thai Massage has many benefits available to each individual. Some of these benefits include: The whole body being stretched and relaxed on a deeper lever as gentle pressure on energy lines and yoga like stretches are used. This deeper stretch can lead to improved circulation, which can help improve personal outlook, personal emotions, and a better night’s sleep leading to more healing. It also helps to reduce stress levels and possibly reduce the number of migraines and headaches one may suffer.  Some have found the release of muscular tension to last for days after a session. This is due to the techniques of acupressure, stretching, compressing and manipulating fascial tissue being used in each session.

This 60 or 90 minute massage treatment is performed with no oils and the recipient is fully clothed. As a recipient, you will lie on a large soft mat as I move your body around in different positions to help you stretch your muscles and open energy lines. These movements include a blend of stretching along with static and rhythmic pressures and as well as rhythmic movements.

Plan to wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in and limit jewelry so I can access all areas of the body easily.
